Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large (1.75 to 2.25 inches) triangular leaf shaped point The cross section has a median ridge on on face and flattened on the other face. The blade is narrow and excurvate with the widest part of the blade being about the mid point of the blade giving the point a diamond appearance. The blade is steeply beveled. The shoulders are absent and the contracting stem is one third to one half the length of the point. The base is pointed. This point has a random flaking pattern.

Hranicky (2011) states that this point is commonly mistyped as Marrow Mountain or Rossville types. However this type may be distinguished on the longer contracting stem approx. one third to one half the total length of the point, the high median ridge, and the steep beveling of the blade which is not commonly seen on other types.
Hranicky (2011) places this point "pre-8000 B.C." placing it as a Paleo type, but gives no information to support this. The date should remain unknown until the proper date can be ascertained.
