Blue is a dull gray to medium blue and commonly has white streaks.
Texture: Fine Grain
Luster: The luster may range from dull to
waxy with a
glassy vitreous when heat treated.

Nellie Blue is a variation of the Upper Mercer Chert and is associated
with the Upper Mercer Limestone of the Pottsville group. Primary
outcroppings are located in central and southeastern Ohio.
